PhD position (m/f/d) in coastal research on compound extreme events
At our Institute of Coastal Reseach we are seeking one PhD Student (m/f/d) to analyse compound extreme events that may substantially contribute to and enhance coastal flooding risk (initially limited to 3 years). In particular we aim at developing, for the North and Baltic Sea catchments, scenarios for potential future changes in the occurrence of compound storm surges and high river discharge. In addition, a set of more comprehensive compound event scenarios will be developed for the case study of the Ems estuary, thereby benefitting from unique data and collaboration with project partners within the WAKOS project. The place of employment is Geesthacht. Starting February 1st, 2021.
