What is your qualifying background?
I studied meteorology in the Honor Program for Talented Students of Vietnam National University – Hanoi. My PhD was about convective parametrization in a regional climate model and model bias correction using artificial neural network.
How would you describe your working daily routine?
Most of the time sitting in front of computer to program and evaluate the coupled model GCOAST-AHOI. Answering emails from colleagues, taking part in online workshops/conferences. Working on graphic design to illustrate the interaction processes between atmosphere, ocean and land is also my favorite.
What has been your biggest success so far?
Development of several air-sea-river coupled models. With them, I could actively join in a big network of model coupling across Germany and Europe.
Do you have a big goal?
Making myself better than me of yesterday.
Do you have any personal distinctive mark?
Wearing hat and sunglasses in summer. Covered from head-to-foot in winter.
